Learn how to install the latest updates that include new print modes with improved color management for both DTG and DTF techniques.
TexJet echo2 printer’s drivers had been updated to a new and improved version called Optimized. This version includes new ICC Color Profiles that apply for all the color substrates, in both DTG and DTF, and can be found integrated into the print modes as usual.
The software interface still supports four print queue tabs, three for DTG and one for DTF, but for the DTG ones the Photo feature is set as default. The Graphics feature will be available, from now on, only through selection and not as a second tab option.
Installation process of the optimized drivers
The optimized version is saved as a new device, named TexJet echo2 Optimized. Existing users of the echo2 printer, to work with the new adjustments should install the new device, by following the steps below:
At the main toolbar, go to Help and then click on Update License File. Tap on OK when the process is finished.
Restart the RIP software, to save the update.
At the main toolbar, go to Devices and then, select Manage Devices. At the Icons toolbar, go to Install Printer icon and select the TexJet echo2 Optimized printer.
At the main toolbar, go to the Queue Manager and set up the correct port.
Note: By following those steps, the optimized print queues and modes can be found in a new queue tab named Other. If you click on it, you will find three DTG queues (Echo2 Opt Black, White, and Color) and one DTF queue named Echo2 DTF Opt. The old queues and modes will be still visible and active.
Caution: If you have already installed the optimized drivers, make sure that you have the most updated ones. At the main toolbar, go to Devices and then, select Manage Devices. At the Icons toolbar, click on the Check For Cloud Updates icon. Proceed with the update if there is one.
Process of deleting the old drivers for TexJet echo2
In case you don’t want to use the old print modes and only work with the optimized ones, follow the process described:
At the main toolbar, go to Queue and then, select Manage Queues. At the Queue Manager window that pops up, select all existing TexJet echo2 print queues and Remove them (X icon).
At the main toolbar, go to Devices and then, select Manage Devices. Select the device (printer) you are using (i.e., TexJet Echo2) and Remove it (X icon).
At the Manage Devices window, at the Icons toolbar, go to the Install Printer icon and select the TexJet echo2 Optimized printer.
Go again to the Queue Manager and set up the correct port.
Tip: As mentioned in the beginning, in the optimized version the queues are more simplified and no longer split between Photo and Graphics. Since the Photo feature is set as default, to print with Graphics mode you will have to select the uploaded file, go to Color Adjust and from the three options (ICC Setting, Photo and Graphics) choose the last one - Graphics.
