Among the most useful tools, is the custom print media that allows the user to make various alterations and achieve the printing outcome he wants.

The custom print media, gives you the option of creating other, smaller templates embedded in the platen that you chosen to create the custom template upon. You can adjust the settings in a way that you can always print on a preconfigured area, with the exact print dimensions and shape you want. In addition, you have the option of a fixed graphic, meaning that you can have logos, signatures and watermarks printed on all of your designs automatically.

In order to create a custom print media, follow with ease the detailed steps below:

At the window that popped-up, select the corresponding platen size that you want to customize and tap on the third icon on the toolbar named “Create copy of selected print media”. At the new window, type a new unique name for the print media, in order to distinguish it from the original, and press OK. The new custom template will appear at the bottom of the list in the first window.

STEP 2

Scaling

Three choices are available. The “Leave As Is” option uploads the digital file with its default dimensions. The “Scale to fit: Always” option automatically adjusts the file in the right dimensions in order to fill within the template. The “Scale to fit: Only if larger” option shrinks the image only when its dimensions are larger than the template’s limits.

Rotation

You have the choice of rotating your image by 90, 180, 270 degrees plus, at the point until it fits within the margins.

Alignment

The placement of the image on each template can be preconfigured, according to your preferences and needs.

Mirroring

You can choose between the two options, No mirroring and Horizontal.

Size & Position

This is where you adjust the dimensions of each template you create.

Fixed Graphic

This is a feature that allows you to import a specific file and assign it for printing every time you use the template. Such an option is useful when you want to print your logo or watermarks at each job. This way, you automate your production while printing different files.

Add Custom Cut Pattern

When you want your digital file printed in an exact shape, then this feature is useful. It offers you four Patterns to choose from: Circle with hole, Circle, Phone Case and Star. In addition, the Scaling, Rotation and Mirroring settings are available, which were previously described.

After you finish adjusting all the above parameters, according to your preferences, proceed with Save.

STEP 3

If you want to add another or multiple templates within the original, in the space that is left available, then each time adjust the numbering on Label, and repeat the process that was described earlier, every time you create a template.

Note: Be careful of the positioning of each template, as well as its size and dimensions, so they don’t overlap each other. At the bottom of the Template Setup window, you can see each template (slot), along with its position and dimensions.

STEP 4

When you finish creating your custom templates, don’t forget to tap on Save at the right bottom of the Template Setup window. Now you can find all of your custom templates saved on each available print queue.
